Performs as an instructor, teacher and educator in a regular classroom setting, presenting instructions, in designated subject area. Demonstrates on-going commitment to preparing young people for the work force by modeling, mentoring, and monitoring excellence.Promotes a positive and desirable atmosphere within the classroom setting to ensure maximum student motivationMaintains a high degree of discipline within the classroom setting in order to ensure maximum learningUtilizes all possible curriculum resources availableResponsible for adequate classroom preparationRecords and forwards daily attendance to the Student Records Dept.Assists in the completion of all necessary Job Corps FormsResponsible for building and equipment in seeing that security measures are taken and equipment and supplies are cared forAccountable for cleanliness of classroomPrepares reports such as student/staff hours, requisitions and monthly student evaluationsAttends required staff training sessionsInstructs on the CMA curriculum in accordance with Job Corps requirements and program specificationsDevelops and prepares supplemental lessons and recommends curricula changes as neededCustomize teaching methods to meet student's needsClassroom management skills required in order to maintain a high level of discipline within the classroom setting to insure maximum learningCounsels and motivates students regarding behavior, training, personal and/or study habits and problems that may arise.Other duties as assignedRequirementsCertified Medical Assistant in the State of FloridaPrefer extensive practical knowledge of CMA curriculumClassroom teaching experience preferredValid Driver's license with an acceptable driving record.The employer of record for this position is Eckerd Youth Alternatives, Inc.
