Halifax Health - Hospiceis seeking a Medical Secretary.The
Hospice Medical Secretary performs departmental tasks to support
the Patient Care Coordinator (PCC) and clinical interdisciplinary
group (IDG) members. Responsibilities include clerical/secretarial
responsibilities, answering organizational and team phone lines and
various tasks to ensure high quality patient care.High School
Diploma or GED equivalentrequired.Previous secretarial experience
in a health care setting preferred.Skills in oral &
writtencommunication required.Must have excellent interpersonal and
customer service skillsAbility to work well with patients,
families, colleagues of varied disciplines, physicians and
ancillary departmentpersonnel.Excellent typing skills & experience
working with multiple software programs Microsoft Word & Excel
etc.Excellent time management and organizational skills.General
clerical duties; including making copies, coordinating mailings,
typing correspondence, minutes and other documents.Answering large
volume of calls for organization and team maintaining excellent
customer service.Communicates, obtains pertinent information,
maintaining the dignity, confidentiality and culturalsensitivity of
all individuals of varying socio-economic groups.Maintains, updates
and orders forms and medical supplies as needed.Data entry and
collection, creating reports and gathering other needed information
for Patient Care Coordinator (PCC), IDG meetings, etc.High standard
of customer service and phone etiquette, providing thorough hand
off to appropriate team members to assist and support patients,
families and community.Provides support to PCC, IDG and other
departments and teams in the organization.Maintain working order of
all company office equipment.Ensuring appropriate supervisory
personnel are made aware of items of concern/problems
quickly.Maintains the cleanliness and organization of assigned work
