Classification Title: Cornea Specialist (Assistant, Associate,
Full Professor) Job Description: The Department of Ophthalmology at
the University of Florida invites applications for a full-time
faculty position at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full
Professor specializing in Cornea and External Diseases to expand
our academic practice. There is immediate opportunity to engage in
a busy tertiary clinical practice in an established longstanding
department with a brand new, state-of-the-art clinic and surgery
center. In addition to delivering excellence in patient care, the
successful candidate will have ample opportunities to develop
independent and collaborative research initiatives and to
contribute to innovative educational programs within a dynamic

commensurate with credentials and experience. The College of
Medicine has a competitive faculty compensation plan, which

Commensurate based on rank and experience with an excellent
benefits package. Minimum Requirements: Requirements include
completion of an ACGME approved ophthalmology residency program as
well as a postgraduate fellowship training in cornea and external
diseases. Board certification or eligibility and licensure (or
eligibility) to practice medicine in Florida are prerequisites.
Preferred Qualifications: Qualifications, in addition to clinical
expertise, include a strong commitment to teaching, resident
training, and research as well as participation in academic
activities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills along
with strong interpersonal skills are important. Special
