Job Description:

Machine Operator will be responsible for performing various tasks to set up, operate, monitor, troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance on assigned machines. Principle Duties and Responsibilities o Uses proper safety equipment to ensure surfaces are adequately prepared for all operationso Inspecting parts to specifications and making adjustments, or tool changes as necessary to maintain quality specifications.o Sets up and operates a production machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.o Reads and interprets blueprints and diagrams to select, position and secure machinery. Adjusts machine settings to complete tasks accurately, according to specifications and in a timely fashion.o Maintains shop, equipment, tools, vehicles, etc. for the purpose of ensuring the availability and functioning of required items and ensuring safetyo Coordinates with shop supervisor and other personnel for the purpose of completing projects/work orders efficiently, on time, and with no defectso Assists others as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activitieso Adheres to safety policies to ensure a safe working environment for oneself and surrounding coworkerso Performs other related duties, as assigned, to maintain a steady flow of product through the shop and to ensure an efficient and effective work environment Measures of Performance o Quality, accuracy, thoroughness, and reliability of work performedo Meet all safety record with no damage to products or equipment . Operate/monitor equipment during operation to ensure quality production and minimal unplanned stops.o Communicate with team members and support teams to ensure continuous production of the correct product at high quality levels with minimal wasted time and materials.o Attention to Detail. Teamwork. Physical Stamina and Strength to Handle Heavy Equipment and Work Independently.o Ability to establish and maintain trust and respect of shop supervisors and coworkers Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities o Must be able to read, write, and comprehend Englisho Need to be able to read metric tapeso Able to lift 40 pounds and carry 30 poundso Must be able to push /move objects up to 50 pounds of forceo Pulling requirements up to 122 pounds of forceo Necessary to stand, walk, and stoop up to 99% of shifto Flexibility is necessary to work with others in a variety of circumstances and operate equipment using a variety of standardized methodso Must be able to adapt to changing work priorities, communicate with diverse groups, meet deadlines and schedules, work as part of a team, and work with constant interruptions during the workdayo Employee must be able to deal effectively with times pressures, long hours, rapidly changing priorities, and stress Working Conditions Machine Operators at Veritas Steel work indoors in a large open warehouse. There is regular exposure to dirt, dust, paint fumes, noise, moving equipment, heavy steel, and other possible hazardous conditions. Earplugs, hardhats, respirator, safety glasses and steel-toed boots with metatarsal guards are required. PI216761484
