Georgia-Pacific is currently seeking a Maintenance and Reliability Leader for our Continuous Manufacturing Operation in Palatka, Florida.

The Maintenance and Reliability Leader is responsible for the long range planning and development of strategies for reliability improvements for the facility. This role is part of the facility's leadership team and reports to the Mill Manager/VP of Manufacturing. This position oversees and is responsible for improving the facility's manufacturing performance by reducing machine downtime and unscheduled maintenance through improved equipment reliability and leading effective preventative and first quality repair maintenance program. Value creation and continuous improvement is expected as a result of utilizing structured processes and systems such as:

  • Hazard identification and risk mitigation
  • Leader standard work and performance management
  • Adult learning and capability building
  • Maintenance work process, including planning and scheduling best practices
  • Reliability Centered Maintenance concepts and practices
  • Predictive, preventive and precision maintenance concepts and best practices
  • Shutdown/Turnaround best practices
  • Financial Planning for multi-year maintenance expenditures, capital improvements and waste elimination

    The ideal candidate will have proven leadership, interpersonal ability, communication skills (verbal and written), planning, and organizational skills; as well as time management, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills. The candidate must be able to create and articulate a shared vision within a department, lead and manage action plans that are aligned with achieving the facility's vision and desired future state. This role is identified as a key role and will be positioned for future Mill Leaders with Georgia Pacific.

    • Identification and mitigation of department's highest safety risks
    • Environmental, Health, Safety, regulatory and internal guideline compliance
    • Department culture aligned with MBM - Guiding Principles
    • Maintenance of all plant assets which include all buildings and grounds
    • Reliability gap analysis and improvement plan implementation
    • Application and leveraging of reliability-focused technology
    • Effective cost management of department expenses
    • Development of future department leaders
      The Experience You Will Bring

      • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering OR seven (7) or more years of experience in a technical leadership role
      • Five (5) or more years years of experience working within an industrial/manufacturing environment
      • Three (3) or more years of Leadership or Supervisory experience with responsibility for direct reports within industrial/manufacturing environment
      • Experience with maintenance and reliability concepts such as planning & scheduling, preventive & predictive maintenance, shutdown/turnaround management, mechanical integrity, project check-out & start-ups, overhauls. root cause analysis (RCA) process and predictive maintenance tools.
      • Experience managing a financial plan and equipment parts usage
        What Will Put You Ahead

        • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
        • Five (5) years or more years of experience working within an industrial maintenance environment as a Maintenance or Reliability Supervisor/Superintendent with assessing, developing, and managing the performance of direct reports and others in a department or facility.
        • Demonstrated experience assessing, developing and managing the performance of direct reports and others in a department or facility
        • Experience in developing maintenance financial plans and staffing models for a facility
        • Experience working within an integrated Pulp and Paper Mill operation
        • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
        • Power Distribution and Programming Logic Controller (PLC) familiarity is a plus
